  1. Choose a page

    • A newspaper, a magazine or an old book page
    • A pencil and a thick black marker

  2. Skim

    5 minutes

    Read the page lightly without looking for meaning. Notice which words jump out.

  3. Circle

    15 minutes

    Lightly circle the words that build a phrase or image, reading top to bottom.

  4. Black out

    15 minutes

    Black out everything else. Doodles and shapes are welcome.

  5. Title it

    • Give it a title
    • Photograph it
