• All processing on the master bus bypassed
• Save a new version of the project

Set every track to peak around -18 to -12 dBFS before any plugins.

Get the best mix you can with volume and panning alone.

Cut before you boost. Clear out low end from everything that doesn't need it.

Leave the room, in silence.

Control dynamics where needed, then add reverb and delay on sends.

Flip between your mix and the reference at the same loudness. Note the biggest differences and fix those first.

• Bounce the mix
• Listen on headphones, phone speaker and in the car
• Write notes, but don't fix anything until tomorrow
